Jessie Lafayette Bonner
Seismologist

Jessie joined Weston Geophysical in February of 2000 after spending two years as a staff member of the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Geophysics Laboratory.  His research interests include:

Jessie obtained his Ph.D at SMU in 1997 under the direction of Dr. Eugene Herrin.  For his dissertation, he completed research in three different areas, including quantifying surface wave radiation from quarry blasts, determining the crustal structure of the Sierra Madre Occidental in northern Mexico, and correlating heat flow and seismicity in California.  After finishing his degree, he assisted Paul Golden in the construction, operation, and certification of the primary seismic array NVAR near Mina, Nevada.  Jessie obtained his M.S. from Baylor University (1993) under the direction of Dr. Tom Goforth, and he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.S. in geology (1991).

Jessie is married to the former Leigh Erin Murray and has a son, Edward Wesley (born Jan 2000), and a daughter, Isabelle Beatrice (April 2004).
